We are constantly involved in representing Defendants in complex and serious criminal matters. The cases below are a selection that we have defended recently.
Case of ‘O’
Drugs Offences – this was an independent adjudication in Prison where we successfully defended a Prisoner alleged to have taken drugs whilst in Prison.
R –v- Colclough
ABH – Soldier successfully defended at Bournemouth Crown Court against an allegation of Racially Aggravated ABH. Half time submissions accepted by the Judge.
R v Nicholls and Others
Drugs Importation – we represented one of the Defendants accused of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
R v Boot
Drugs Importation – we successfully defended a female charged with importation of Class C drugs. Lengthy negotiations with the Prosecution eventually resulted in the case against the defendant being discontinued.
R v Ruzicka
Drugs Importation - we successfully defended an allegation where a foreign lorry driver was on trial for importation of Class A and Class B drugs. Full legal argument during the trial by Clare Ashcroft resulted in the prosecution being halted and the Defendant was acquitted.
R v Merceij
Drugs Importation – we represented the main Defendant at trial in respect of importation of over £5million worth of heroin. We also represented the Defendant before the full Court of Criminal Appeal in respect of Appeal against Conviction and Sentence.
R v Kilty
Sexual Offences – a case where we represented a client who pleaded guilty to a number of sexual offences and grooming offences
R v A
Sexual Offences – successfully defended a minor accused of sexual offences. Following negotiations with CPS and various agencies, the case was dropped.
R v Bermudez
Sexual Offences - a Foreign National who pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a minor.
