News – Recent Criminal Cases (September 2009)

We are constantly involved in representing Defendants in complex and serious criminal matters. The cases below are a selection that we have defended recently.


R -v- Brown

Murder - Defendant charged with Murder and approached by Crown to assist with their case. First Solicitors in the Country to deal with proceedings under the Serious Organised Crime Act. Going through the debriefing process with the Major Investigations Team. Crown dropped the Murder charge and pleaded guilty to a much lesser offence, client receiving only a seven months custodial sentence.


R -v- White

Drugs Offences - Proceeds of Crime Proceedings whereby the Prosecution stated that the Defendant had benefitted by £67m and the Prosecution sought to recover that amount from the Defendant. Agreed amount payable by way of proceeds of crime resulted in £14,000.


R -v- Cole

Rape - Following a re-trial at Norwich Crown Court a not guilty verdict was returned.


R -v- Ely

Successfully defended an allegation of rape in Chelmsford Crown Court.
