Everyone should make a Will. Many people believe that they don’t need a Will as their assets will automatically pass to their spouse or partner upon their death. However, that is not necessarily the case. What would happen if you and your partner die at the same time? What happens if you have children from a previous relationship? Will your estate be affected by Inheritance Tax?

Fixed Fee service - A straight forward single Will costs £150 + vat to prepare. If you and your spouse or partner wish to make mirror Wills, the cost is £200 + vat for both. (excluding home or hospital visits)

If your circumstances are complicated or urgent; you need Inheritance Tax advice; or a home or hospital visit we will charge our hourly rates.

LASTING POWER OF ATTORNEY (LPA)

Appointing an Attorney may be something you want to consider whether you travel abroad and are not in the country enough to manage your affairs; or if you are worried about your health failing in the future. A Lasting Power of Attorney can be prepared now for use immediately or at some time in the future, when you are unable to manage your affairs personally. Contact us for further information.

We offer the following fixed fees:

To prepare one LPA          £375.00

To prepare two LPAs         £450.00

To register each LPA        £100.00

PROBATE – ADMINISTRATION OF ESTATES

If you lose a loved one, the last thing you want to worry about is their estate. However, we understand that you may have concerns about the costs involved. At THB we can offer an efficient and quality service at competitive fees.

Fixed Fee service - for estates under the Inheritance Tax threshold, currently £325,000, we can obtain the grant of probate and administer an estate for a fixed fee of £595.00 + vat and disbursements. (excluding any conveyancing costs)

If the estate is greater than £325,000 or Inheritance Tax is due, or there is no Will, then all work done will be charged at our hourly rates plus 1% of the value of the gross estate + vat and disbursements.
