Charlie joined the Family Team at THB in 2017 having previously worked for a Hertfordshire firm.
Charlie has a particular interest in representing parties in financial matters following divorce or separation. Charlie can offer advice and assistance on all areas of family law including, divorce, separation, cohabitation, civil partnerships, pre-marital agreements, pre-civil partnership, property issues and financial settlement within divorce.
Charlie also represents parents and/or other family members, such as grandparents, in children issues including child arrangement disputes and care proceedings. Charlie can provide advice and assistances on social services involvement prior to court proceedings commencing regarding child protection issues and the public law outline process.
Charlie understands how emotional and stressful a family law matter can be for all parties concerned. Charlie provides a straightforward, practical approach to matters whilst empathising with the situation at hand, in order to assist in the reduction of stress for the parties involved.
Charlie is able to assist the majority of clients in reaching an amicable agreement without having to undertake litigation. If matters do become contested however, Charlie is able to pursue the matter to a satisfactory completion for every client, often being able to settle matters in a civilised way before the final hearing. Charlie will also undertake her own advocacy whenever possible to ensure that clients have continuity of representation throughout any Proceedings.
Charlie has experience in civil partnerships, same sex disputes and all types of family matters involving the LGBTQ community. Charlie also has experience in separation matters involving family businesses and the distinction between matrimonial and non-matrimonial assets.
Charlie completed her Law Degree in 2012 at the University of East Anglia whereupon she started her legal career advising parents and family members on all aspects of children and education law at the Charity, Coram. Charlie completed her Legal Practice Course with Distinction in 2015 whilst also working full time as a Family Law paralegal. Charlie is currently undertaking a part time Master’s Degree in Business and is due to complete the same in July 2018.
