Head of Department - Conveyancing
A mid-size firm, with 6 offices across, Essex Norfolk & Suffolk is looking to appoint a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Legal Executive to join its team as Head of Conveyancing. The position is at the Head Office in Chelmsford but the position would be to oversee the Conveyancing Department as a whole.
This firm is CQS and Lexcel accredited and prides itself on Client Care. There is an existing department that currently covers two of the offices in Essex and there are plans to expand this into our Ipswich Branch shortly.
The position has become available due to the current Head of Department relocating.
The main purpose of the role is to lead and take responsibility for current conveyancing relationships and to develop new business through current and potential contacts. It would also be advantageous if you could bring a following. Regular networking and other marketing activities are essential as part of the business development.
If you undertake commercial conveyancing this would also be welcomed.
You will have the ability to manage, support and develop the existing 3 other experienced Solicitors by providing technical expertise and delivering legal and regulatory supervision. In addition you will also maintain a quality service across the Conveyancing department as a whole. You will also work closely with the other Heads of Departments and Partners to raise the profile of the firm as a whole.

Legal Secretary Residential Conveyancing
Legal Secretary with Residential Conveyancing experience required two days a week (Thursday and Friday 9:00am-5.30pm) to cover a minimum of 9 months maternity leave.
Duties will include providing secretarial and administrative support within the Conveyancing Department, including liaising with clients, typing, searching land registry, answering incoming calls, inputting information into the computer and general administration.
Good communication and interpersonal skills in the context of client care are essential for this position and we are looking for someone who has a positive manner in dealing with clients and colleagues.
